Essential General Medical Services

Services provided:

This practice provides Essential General Medical Services to include:

a) The management of patients who are ill or believe themselves to be ill, with conditions from which recovery is generally expected, for the duration of that condition, including relevant health promotion advice and referral as appropriate, reflecting patient choice wherever practicable.

b) General management of patients who are terminally ill

c) Management of chronic disease in the manner determined by the practice, in discussion with the patient.

 

The practice provides the following Additional Services:

a) Cervical screening

b) Contraceptive services (excluding coils)

c) Vaccinations and immunisations

d) Child health surveillance

e) Maternity services excluding intrapartum care (deliveries).

f) Minor surgery – curettage, cautery and cryotherapy

g) Cardiovascular Service Framework Support Scheme

h) Osteoporosis/Secondary prevention of Fractures Scheme

 

The practice provides the following Enhanced Services:

1. Directed Enhanced Service

a) Childhood immunisation

b) Influenza & Pneumococcal Vaccination

c) Minor Surgery – injections and excisions

d) Health Care for Adults with Severe learning Disability Scheme

 

2. NI LES/Local Enhanced Services

a) Long Acting Contraceptive Devices (excluding coils)

b) Chronic Respiratory Conditions

c) Anti-coagulation Monitoring

d) Additional Monitoring of Amber Drugs

e)  Pertussis Immunisation for Pregnant Women

f) Complex Care Reviews

g)  Non-UK Migrant Workers

h)  Venesection

i) Home Treatment
